Healing The Family Tree Scrapbooking Series

Healing the Family Tree Scrapbooking Project

Some of the best laid plans take much longer to get implemented than anticipated!  I first published this post November 22 2010.

Last year I proposed this healing activity and the conspiracy of internet problems and other glitches just put it on the back burner.  Many of you were a little relieved to have one less thing to do.

However, I was recently sparked to try this activity again.  Can we change the energy of a family system with our old photographs and some scrapbooking techniques?  Here we go…

Pictures hold frequencies and energy and so do words, colors, images, fabrics, stickers and the other alluring elements of scrap booking.  Put that together with a repatterning in a directed way and you too can create your own healing modality customized to your life and circumstances to heal the energy of your family system.    Imagine opening a beautiful scrapbook collage of all of your family members from as far back as you can with words and qualities that heal the energy from a past time?

We are going to do that starting next weekend for the next 2 months – in bite size pieces I will be demonstrating with my own first effort at making a scrap book style altered book as a healing modality.  You are invited to join in.  You have a few days to get together your material.

Materials Needed (so far)

Family Photographs copied – photocopies of family photos especially grandparents, great grandparents, siblings of said relatives and your own immediate family;

Pictures to symbolize the money in your family tree, the health and/or the relationships. Other symbols of qualities may also be used as you are inspired.

A book to alter or rip apart – go shopping at used book stores for an inexpensive book you can ’alter’ (glue and paste into) for this project.  Choose a book that reflects your city, place of origin, culture or some other important aspect of your family system.  I am looking for an old coffee table book of Romania, Hungary and Italy (sure could it all come in one book?)

Glue – There is probably an official scapbooking glue for this sort of project, but this is a first effort, and we are not aiming for perfect. I say all purpose white craft glue will work great for this project. + Paintbrushes or sponge brushes to apply the glue

Miscellaneous - Collect together words and images from magazines that speak to the qualities you would like to infuse into your family system.  Also stickers, mementos, ribbons and anything else you feeling could be used creatively in your project.

Get a box together to hold your project – it gives the whole thing a bit of reverence.

I am off to do the same and will post some pictures when i am done.

With love and light,

Carolyn

Ancestral Echoes Series returns in January 2011

Exploring the Patterns in the Family Tree

Just a quick note for those of you looking for the Ancestral Echoes group proxy series.  I held off the series this November in order to do a web upgrade. It was unavoidable.   The Series will be held in mid January instead as well as the usual June/July series.  There will be some new additions to the topics and format.   Prior to Series we’ll be working on a special project as a group – The family tree exercise.  More about that in an upcoming post this week.

Taken together both series offer an opportunity to explore a range of ancestral patterns lurking in our psyche that block our contentment, fulfillment and happiness.  I will be writing about the various topics at this blog in the weeks to come and would welcome your questions about family systems healing work that you would like me to address in these posts.

Have any of you experienced a Family Constellation group session?  What was your experience?

With light and love

Carolyn

Here are the upcoming topics

SERIES 1 – January 17th, 24th, & 31st 2011  (Store link)

Session 1: Health Patterns related to our ancestors – Our health issues may be related to similar diseases or symptoms experienced by our ancestors.  Unconsciously we may be preserving someone’s place in the family, preserving a family loyalty or assuming a burden that is not ours through carrying the pattern of ill health.

Session 2: Clearing Financial Boundaries Set by Our Ancestors – In the book “Wire for Wealth” (affiliate link) psychologist Brad and Ted Klontz confirm how we create an invisible bar for having money earning just enough money to never go beyond the highest or lowest levels of the bar.  Unconsciously we maintain a family script to remain in the financial neighborhood defined by our clan. We maintain certain habits or ‘scripts’ as described in the book, to loose money if we make to much or make money if we fall beyond a  certain point.  We’ll l repattern our collective family stories, values and beliefs about money that underlie our current experience of money.

Session 3: Balanced Relationship Patterns – In this session we’ll clear the patterns of imbalance created by family patterns where unresolved violence has occurred and there are both victims and perpetrators perpetuating the cycle. We’ll also look at the inner conflicts we carry that keep us loyal to our system in non-coherent ways and resonate with permission from our ancestors to establish a new way of relating that gives us inner freedom and joy.

SERIES 2 – June 22, 29 & July 6 2011 (Store link)
Session 1: Clearing Systemic Loyalties and Struggles for Power -  Many of our deeper recurring patterns are anchored in systemic loyalties that cause us to consciously or unconsciously identify with an ancestral member who was excluded, or in someway suffered a difficult fate.  Unconsciously we are driven to repeat their fate or take their place so that they belong to the family once more or do not suffer as much. We may not enjoy our success in life if what we have achieved is more than the ancestor we are identified with. The unconscious nature of this pattern can be deeply frustrating.

Clearing our struggles for power will allow us to enjoy more balance in our relationships and feel confident and empowered. We’ll clear non-coherent patterns related to control issues, denial, communication and setting limits.  Watch the dynamics change in your relationships as you let go of control and ask clearly for what you want.

Session 2: Balanced Relationship Patterns – In this session we’ll clear the patterns of imbalance in giving and receiving, masculine and feminine energy as well as ‘Taking Our Parents’ so that we resonate with relationships that are balanced and respectful

Session 3: Resonating with Wealth Consciousness and Creating a Financial Legacy – whether its teaching your children by example, building sufficient reserves to support the family beyond our own life or having the resources to help other people, we need to be free of the scripts that keep us

Healing the Famiy Systems comes back to Kansas this November!

Carin Block

Carin Block, Instructor

It’s been 4 years (I think) since Resonance Repatterning practitioner Carin Block has introduced her 1st course on Healing the Family System to the Resonance Repatterning USA/CA community.    In that time, I have found her material together with the second course to be invaluable in terms of my own repatterning work and understanding.   One of the great things about Family Constellation work is how it goes back in the family ancestry accessing karma created by relatives that we then inherit and live out today without conscious awareness.     We experience it however, as frustration, or road blocks that we just can’t explain and it  can bring us deep misery.   Carin’s course provides a roadmap back to the present!

Bobbie Martin, a teacher and practitioner in Kansas, Missouri, I see has invited Carin to present her course again this November 12-14, 2010.   If you are a student of Resonance Repatterning and you have yet to study this course I’d highly recommend it.  This seminar may be taken any time after completing the Transforming Five Element and Meridian Patterns seminar.

Carin has integrated concepts from Family Constellations Therapy, along with her own knowledge and therapeutic experience, into the Resonance Repatterning model developed by Chloe Faith Wordsworth.  This aspect alone, is quite inspiring for any practitioner who has wondered how they could put their unique learning, mastery, or body of knowledge together for a unique repatterning protocol or seminar.   Hanging out with Carin will give you many ideas!

Bobbie Martin who is organizing the next seminar writes… “Feeling connected to my ancestral energy has never seemed so easy as with Carin Block’s Family Systems work in Resonance Repatterning. This November will be the second time to take this particular class and I still remember the first time I did a practice session in the original class. I had such a powerful shift that my knee started jumping and wouldn’t quit for several minutes. I was working on a series of past relationships in my life. The look of wonder and awe that students show when they experience this work is truly life transforming. Come join us, RR student or not in Kansas City, we would love to share this awesome work with you.”  Bmartin6803@everestkc.net

If you are a Resonance Repatterning practitioner looking to deepen your practice, give Bobbie a call.   Her contact information can be found at her new website: http://www.BobbieMartin.com

Here are the seminar Dates: Friday, Saturday and Sunday  November 12-14, 2010  9-6 each day.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask below in the comment section or connect with each other if you are going to the same class.  I am sure Bobbie (who knows perhaps even Carin) will be dropping by this blog to answer questions.

If you have taken the course – what has been your experience of the work so far?

With love and light,

Carolyn Winter

Are you being held back by the invisible limits of your group? – Ancestral Echoes

In the Healing the Family Systems Repatternings developed by Carin Block and based on the Family Constellation work of Bert Hellinger, Carin writes about how groups have a collective consciousness that are held together by rules both spoken and unspoken. We may belong to many groups that have rules governing our belonging. Our group may include our country, culture, social status, work group, professional group etc. When we belong to a group we benefit from its rules and we can grow. Belonging to a professional association, for example, may help me improve my skills, keep me in touch with current information, and meet new colleagues for support. But if I grow to a point where my new learning breaks the rules of my group (i.e. – innovation in a practice is not allowed) my growth may be stifled and I will live my life in a rut. If I break the groups rules I will feel awful for being excluded. In some cases individuals can feel like their survival is threatened but avoiding innovation and growing our skills will lead to certain stagnation. An inner conflict may occur that may lead to pain, self-sabotage or other limitations that now forms a non-coherent form of belonging to the group.

When the rules of the groups we belong to complement each other we have a sense of inner harmony and peace, however, if they contradict each other our inner conflicts will grow. We start to experience life as darned if we do and darned if we don’t. I imagine this is most true for supportive individuals who prefer to avoid conflict and keep peace in a group.

The price to be paid for reconciling our inner conflicts is known as systemic guilt, a form of discomfort that only fades away when we are true to ourselves and make the best choice for us. We may have to separate from the group for a while to integrate our new knowledge and balance our place in a group. We may decide this group is no longer serving our needs at any level or that there is enough room in our lives to contain our new interests and still honor our group.

I often wonder about my grandparents who emigrated from the old country after world war 1 in their early twenties. Their ancestors had not left their farming town of Mor, Hungary for over 200 hundred years. If they had remained in their community, their lives (gosh and probably mine) would continue to be impoverished and harsh. To leave meant to leave behind extended family and community with rules for being able to count on each other to survive. They took the risk to grow and many others from the town followed, realizing their fortunes would improve in other parts of the world. During the Ancestral Echoes series I became very appreciative of the choices they made and what that meant for future generations including myself. It forms an undercurrent of energy to plug into for the changes I would like to make.

Living Our Life for The Next Generation

On the road to enlightenment, we can spend  a fair amount of time blaming our parents for our problems and limitations.  (Sorry mom – it’s true!). If we run out things to directly attribute to them we can always blame our unhappiness on our ancestors.   While therapy, self-improvement programs and yes repatterning can help us forgive our parents, get over it and reach a place of moving on another strategy to consider incorporates bigger picture thinking.  It is the strategy of living our lives to benefit the next generation or several generations from now.

To live this way causes us to consider the longer term impact of our choices, our actions and our legacy.  We could live selfishly and say ‘what does it mater to me’ after I am gone.  but consider this.  In  quantum time – past present and future exists as one.  It may be that a set of present day circumstances are energetically tied to a future time event that we put in motion today.    It’s like a boomerang we send to the future comes back to us in packages we may not recognize but are nevertheless connected.  Holding a grudge with a family member, may have a future descendant speaking ill of you for a generation AND that energy is now flowing back to you! YIKES!

Remembering these quantum possibilities when you are holding out on reconciling with loved ones, holding a grudge, judging or controlling events in your life especially linked with your family.  In these situations, what are your actions today bringing back to you from the future?  How will your descendants remember you?   On the other hand, what contribution did you make to your family, your community, the planet or any of those futures?   Consider that the energy imprint you create today is already being felt by the people you touch in the future and they are sending their energy back to you.

Sometimes it is the smallest of actions we are taking that will have the biggest system wide effect.   I think about that as I separate the recyclables, make purchasing choices that come with less packaging or no packaging, or forgive the guy who cut me off in traffic.  I try to think that the small actions will create a wave effect to the future that reverberates back supporting my day.

The David Suzuki Foundation link is filled with inspiring ways you can live life for the next generation:
http://www.davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/ .  David Suzuki also recently tweeted about this blog.  This woman’s challenge really had me looking at plastics in a new way: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/cause-an-effect/stories/marine-conservationist-taina-uitto-goes-plastic-free-this-year/

What is our legacy when we live for the next generation? What do we want it to be? What will we do differently today?

Your thoughts are appreciated

With love and light,
Carolyn
